When
Carl Goebel was just out of high school, he lived in several kibbutzim in the
land of Israel for five years. There he studied both biblical and modern
Hebrew, becoming proficient in the language. Upon returning to the United
States, he entered a 20-year career as supervisor and mid-level manager in local
government. After retiring, Carl engaged in intensive biblical and
historical studies. As a result, he wrote a doctoral-level manuscript
entitled, Jesus' Grandmother--A Diaspora Jew? A Treatise on the Family
Background of Jesus. In addition to this work, Carl has studied a
great deal in the area of early Christian history, as well as in the area of
biblical backgrounds.
Carl is an adjunct instructor for
Bethany College and also is one of our Instructors at Reyah College, where he is the Secretary/Treasurer. His teaching involves the Hebrew language as well as
Church History and various biblical books, in addition to Basic English Grammar.
